Top 5 Commitments to Make in 2019

Top 5 Commitments to Make in 2019

It’s an age-old tradition: the New Year rolls around and suddenly there’s tremendous pressure to eat better, work out and improve our lives. This will be the year, we say. We’ll get it done this time.

Instead of resolutions that will be out the window in a few short weeks, what if we took the time to commit to smaller steps that help embrace your best you?

At Mixfit, we’ve built an entire system around that exact goal. As 2019 gets rolling, we challenge you to ditch the resolutions and make a commitment to yourself to incorporate these five things in your life for 2019 and beyond.

Hydration is essential and many of us fail to get enough. Being hydrated can do wonders for your skin, energy and sleep. A quick tip: If you feel really thirsty, the chances are your body is naturally telling you that you are dehydrated. Grab a new water bottle or find a new low-to-no-sugar drink you love—and start giving your body what it needs.

Get moving

It’s not about fancy equipment or expensive gym memberships; make the effort to sit less.

Little actions like parking farther away from the store entrance, choosing the stairs or taking a walk around the block add up. When you focus on smaller actions like these, you are more likely to succeed.

Hack your way to healthy snacking

People are prone to grab what’s in front of them when snacking. Give yourself a break by having nuts, fruits or veggies on your counter, at your desk or pre-chopped in the fridge. Don’t have time to chop? Indulge in pre-chopped fruit or veggies from the store. The return on investment is well worth it.

Supplement your nutrition

Your diet is a primary source for the daily nutrients you take. However, according to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), more than 40 percent of adults have dietary intakes of vitamin A, C, D and E, calcium and magnesium below the average requirement for their age and gender. Supplements can be a way to help close that gap. Learn why Mixfit is personalizing your supplements.

Change your attitude

It may sound silly, but our attitudes affect how we feel. So instead of making unattainable goals, then beating yourself up when you don’t meet them, try being patient and forgiving with yourself. Celebrate the happy moments and don’t throw your entire day off track if you eat something too sweet or miss a day or week of working out.

With a little luck, these steps can help you feel happier and healthier all year round. Cheers to the best you, always.
